From Seabrook to Colebrook, Berlin to Hinsdale, along Main Streets and 19th-century dirt roads, in city parks and on town greens, in libraries and town halls, and in cemeteries prominent and obscure, George Morrison will present how he located, inventoried, and photographed the fascinating variety of New Hampshire’s Civil War memorials.

Suicide prevention is a significant public health concern and a top priority for the City of Nashua Division of Public Health and Community Services (DPHCS). Suicide occurs across all economic, age, social, racial boundaries. Although suicide prevention efforts largely focus on identifying and providing treatment for people with mental health conditions, there are many additional opportunities for prevention. DPHCS recommends that the community takes a comprehensive public health approach to suicide prevention to address the range of contributing factors.
We hope that shifting the culture and starting the conversation about suicide encourages people to talk more openly, increase awareness and, ultimately, curb the trend. We want to educate, decrease stigma, and implement change within the community. Join us at our next free Introduction to Suicide Prevention Training on November 21st from 6-7:30pm at the Nashua Public Library to learn more.

Based on Louisa May Alcott’s real life, Little Women follows the adventures of sisters, Jo, Meg, Beth, and Amy March. Jo is trying to sell her stories for publication, but when publishers seem uninterested – her dear friend, Professor Bhaer, suggests that Jo write more of herself and her personal experience.
