District Description
The…Charter of the Merrimack Valley Regional Water District, dated April 2, 2004 is hereby adopted to make the City of Nashua a member of said regional water district subject to the terms and conditions of the agreement and charter, contingent upon the addition of the following paragraph at the end of Article 12: “No budget requiring an increase in fees, charges, rates, or tariffs shall be adopted until such increase in the fees charges, rates, or tariffs has been properly established.” [R-04-58] From the Charter of the Merrimack Valley Regional Water District: The Merrimack Valley Regional Water District is created as a regional water district and established for the purpose of providing and assuring for the provision of an adequate and sustainable supply of clean potable water at reasonable cost and to advance the conservation and compatible recreational use of the land subject to the District's control consistent with the foregoing. The Merrimack Valley Regional Water District shall exercise its powers and carry out its duties under this Charter for the benefit of the Customers of the Water District consistent with the health, safety, welfare, and well-being of all residents of the District. The Board of Directors shall consist of one voting representative and one alternate from each Member of the District.
