Arlington Street - Sewer Construction Project 2011

Water, gas and sewer utility replacement has been occurring on Arlington Street since last September.  The water and gas, mains and services, have been replaced.  Work on the sewer main and services is ongoing.  The work zone is on Arllington Street from East Hollis to Williams Street.  Most of the sewer work from East Hollis to Gillis Street has been completed.

Traffic will be detoured around the construction zone thru side streets while work is ongoing. The contractor has flagger assisting with the traffic control.  Please follow the contractors detour signs and direction of the flaggers to keep the site safe during construction.

The sewer construction began in late November and the main line has been completely installed.  Work has temporarily stopped and is in a winter shut down mode.  The remaining work, which will not start till spring conditions permit, includes replacing the remaining sewer services and the complete roadway restoration.  This posting will be revised in the spring when the contractor provides an updated schedule on the resumption of work.

Working hours are from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm daily, Monday thru Friday.

During the sewer construction work, traffic will be detoured to Allds Street, but local residents will have access to their driveways at all time. Access to the Dr. Crisp Elementary School will also be available at all times during the construction.

The Contractor for the sewer project, which is managed by the City, is Albanese D&S, Inc. The water pipe installation is being administered by Pennichuck Water Works and their contractor is Edmunds Construction.   The gas main installation is being administered by National Grid, and their contractor is Nueco.

Please contact Project Engineer, Bill Keating at 589-3120 if you have any problems to report or concerns.
