The Solid Waste Department announces the startup of the special collection of oversized items, beginning the week of April 16. Residents who receive trash and recycling collection service by the Department are eligible to have up to five oversized items each year picked up at no charge. There would be a charge of $25 each for additional items.
Submit an Oversized Items Pickup Request
Residents can call the Solid Waste Department at 589-3410, Monday through Friday, or go to the Oversized Item Pickup Form to request an appointment for the following week’s pickup list. Examples of oversized items include large appliances, furniture, residential tires without rims, and bundles of brush. No commercial tires will be accepted. Brush must be tied in bundles that weigh no more than sixty pounds, and branches must be no more than 3 inches in diameter and no more than 4 feet long.
No electronics or construction and demolition debris will be picked up at curbside. These items must be brought directly to the Nashua Recycling Center. Nashua residents may also bring oversized items, brush or soft yard wastes to the Nashua Recycling Center at the Four Hills Landfill, 840 West Hollis Street. A valid residential permit is required to use the facility, which is open from 8 am to 4 pm Monday through Friday and 8 am to 1 pm on Saturdays. A residential permit costs $5 per calendar year per vehicle, and a current vehicle registration must be shown as proof of residency.
