  • New Hampshire Public Utilities Commission announces approval of City's petition
    - Friday, July 25, 2008 - The New Hampshire Public Utilities Commission (PUC) announced today that it has approved the City’s petition to acquire the assets of the Pennichuck Water Works (PWW), the local water utility that provides drinking water to the City of Nashua from a core system located in Nashua and Merrimack.

Nashua Mayor Lozeau offered the following statement:

The PUC’s complex and lengthy decision (120 pages) provides the City with an excellent opportunity to assess its goals of protecting the public’s critical drinking water supply for future generations, improving operations and stabilizing rates under public ownership of the water system, as well as considering all other available options.

The City will immediately evaluate the impact of this decision and consider the potential cost and ramifications to the City and its ratepayers.  Given the complexity of the issue, a thorough review and examination of the decision is necessary.  I will have a further statement soon.

    - Tuesday, April 15, 2008 -

In celebration of her first 100 days in office, Mayor Donnalee Lozeau is launching a two-part initiative for community involvement. The first is to make it easier for residents to get involved in their community.

The second is a way for residents to get the Mayor involved in seeing the things they are doing by inviting the Mayor to their events.

Please visit the 100 Days, 100 Ways page on the City's website.  It will give links to volunteer opportunities within city government, and nonprofit agencies. There you will also find a public calendar that will list the events that the Mayor will be attending, and a way to invite the Mayor to your event.
