Whether you are relocating to our city, or just visiting and need some information, we want you to feel welcome.  Nashua, "The Gate City", is the second largest city in New Hampshire and is the center of a diverse and dynamic region of more than 175,000 people. The combination of an excellent quality of life and proximity to Boston, the seacoast, and the White Mountains makes Nashua an attractive growth center for New England. Nashua has been named 'Money' magazine's "Best Place to Live in America," and is the only city in the country ever to win this honor twice.

The City of Nashua is dedicated to developing and maintaining excellent relationships with all of the people and businesses in our community.  The Business section has information about economic development, business assistance, permits, inspections, transportation, recycling, and information about how to do business with the City and how the City can help your business.  The website also contains information on economic data, the local arts scene, leisure events, visitor related information, maps & directions, and more. Proposed Fiscal Year 2009 Budget
- Thursday, March 27, 2008 -

Please click on the link below to view or download the proposed Fiscal Year 2009 budget. I presented this budget to the Board of Aldermen at their March 25, 2008 meeting. I believe this proposed budget maintains public safety and quality services for our citizens at a reasonable tax rate. This budget proposes a total combined annual budget of $228.9 million, with an anticipated tax rate increase of 4% or less, without at this stage applying any of the current surplus. If you are interested in attending or watching any of the Board of Aldermen budget committee meetings (on the government station channel 16) you can click this link for the schedule.

I hope you find this information helpful and easily accessible.
